What is Breathwork?

Breathwork therapy refers to breathing techniques that intentionally channel and focus on the breath. It is a holistic, mind-body approach to mental health and wellbeing and it can be used to treat conditions such as anxiety, depression, chronic pain, stress, trauma and addiction.

Societal demands and busy, stressful lifestyles, mean most of us are living at an unnaturally fast pace and often feel completely overwhelmed and disconnected from our bodies. I believe that learning to use the breath to reconnect with our body, clear trauma, release tension and downregulate our nervous system is the key to maintaining our health and happiness.

Breathwork always brings us exactly what we need and provides clarity in a world that often seems overwhelming and confusing.

General Benefits of Breathwork

  • Stress Reduction: Breathwork helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation and reducing stress levels.

  • Emotional Release: Breathwork helps to release suppressed emotions and trauma, leading to emotional healing and balance.

  • Improved Mental Clarity: Regular breathwork practice enhances focus, concentration, and mental clarity.

  • Better Sleep: Breathwork promotes better sleep quality and patterns by calming the mind and body.

  • Enhanced Physical Health: Breathwork helps connect us to the wisdom of the body and helps improve respiratory function. It increases oxygenation of the blood and boosts overall health and energy levels.

Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB)

Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB) is the practice of continuous, rhythmic breathing using a full, diaphragmatic breath. It connects you to the wisdom of your body and invokes a unique process of self-enquiry, discovery, release and empowerment.

This technique can be used to:

  • Release tension and trauma held in your body

  • Clear negative feelings, behavioural patterns and emotions

  • Bring your body into better balance and harmony, often invoking feelings of euphoria, peace and joy

  • Open up your respiratory system, flooding your body with life force energy

  • Support natural healing and restructuring of the internal energy systems

  • Create a sense of calm, balance and overall wellbeing

  • Increase self-awareness and promote mindfulness

  • Enhance creativity by clearing mental clutter and giving you space to find clear and simple answers to life’s questions and conundrums

  • Strengthen your sense of spiritual connection and grounding, anchoring in a sense of inner peace and purpose

  • Is Breathwork Safe?
Like any wellbeing or health practice, the safety of breathwork depends on the facilitator. For me as your breathwork practitioner, safety is my number one priority. I am fully trained in Conscious Connected Breathwork and have completed comprehensive safeguarding training, specific to breathwork. Providing a safe and comfortable space for clients is my priority and an essential part of my approach.
  • How many sessions will I need?
Everyone is different but even one session can have a profound impact. I would recommend between 5 and 10 sessions to maximise the long term benefits and to support a dramatic and positive shift in your life. It is fundamental that you commit to the work and prioritise your personal breathwork practice at home. The clients who transform the most are the ones who commit.
  • How much is it?
Each 90-minute session is £85 online, or £100 face-to-face in The Breathe Space studio in East Sussex near Battle and Hastings. We also have packages that provide savings for those who want to commit to a course of sessions. If you are keen to find out more, but not sure whether to take the leap, why not come along for our relaxing holistic facial and introduction to breathwork treatment.
  • Is there a discount for block bookings?
    Yes, there are block booking packages for 5 and 10 sessions. 5 in person sessions = £450 (usually £500). 10 in person sessions = £900 (usually £1000). 5 online sessions = £400 (usually (£450) 10 online sessions = £800 (usually £850)
  • Do you run group sessions?
I don't currently have any group sessions running.
  • Do you work with children?
I love working with children and I'm passionate about helping young people to use their breath as an effective way of managing difficult emotions, anxiety and stress. I am currently studying with School Breathe to allow me to specialise in working in schools with children age 4 and above. Please contact me directly for any more information.
  • Are you insured?
Yes I am fully insured. I also have up to date first aid and safeguarding certifications.
  • What should I wear?
Wear loose fitting clothes that feel relaxed and comfortable. We may move around quite a bit so it's important not to feel restricted.
  • What should I bring?
You don't need to bring anything but it might be useful to bring along a bottle of water that you can sip easily from during your breathe. You may also want to bring an intention for the session.
